Hudson Chatham WineryThe Winery, located at 1900 Route 66 in Ghent, is situated on the former Brisklea Farms Ayrshire Dairy with views stretching to the Berkshires and Catskills. The Hudson-Chatham Winery celebrates the spirit of Columbia County’s – and New York state’s - agricultural and historical heritage and is owned and operated by Carlo and Dominique DeVito. The DeVito’s offer tastings of their seven wines they currently have available, as well as a new sparkling cider, and their Paperbirch line of port and sherry. Also working with local Sugarmakers they have produced 100% natural maple syrups; and also offer local cheeses, jams, chutneys, and balsamic vinegar. The Tasting Room is open Saturdays 11 am to 5 pm & Sundays 12 pm to 5 pm and by appointment, by calling 518-392-2598.

Hudson Best in Show 2008Best in Show 2008, the city of Hudson’s first public art exhibition, features over 60 artist decorated fiberglass dogs displayed on steel pedestals throughout the Hudson Business District. NYSDEC Hudson River Canoe TripsThe NYSDEC Hudson River Research Reserve is offering FREE educational canoe trip to learn about tidal marsh ecology, Hudson River research, and the challenges facing estuarine habitats. Trip averages 3.5 hours which includes orientation and paddling instruction. Canoes, paddles, safety gear is provided, bring food, water, hat and sunscreen and be prepared to be knee-deep in water. Leaving at the Stockport Flats you will see herons and eagles as you explore the Stockport Creek and if weather permits, you will then paddle to an island that features bank swallows and a swimming beach.
