Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Travelers using Amtrak can easily reach all that Columbia County has to offer. 
Train travelers can arrange for a rental car by calling Enterprise (518-828-5492) Rent-a-Car.

Enterprise will either meet you at the train with your car, or leave keys for your car and your contract with the station manager. 
If arranged in advance, during days/times that Enterprise is closed, cars can be left at the Amtrak Station by leaving keys with the station manager upon your departure.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Hand Hollow Farm

A one-acre farm dedicated to building a community around fresh, locally produce grown as sustainability as possible. Members fill their share bags at the farm once a week, making their own selections from what is available. Members also have access to u-pick crops.

Red Oak Farm

A small, diverse organic farm providing produce and
eggs to our CSA and local markets. CSA produce share
includes vegetables, berries and herbs. Members
receive a weekly email listing all that is available
from our farm, from which items of their choice are
selected for pick-up the ensuing week. Egg shares from
pasture-raised chickens are available as full (1 dozen
a week) or half shares (1/2 dozen per week).

Roxbury Farm

Roxbury Farm is 1000-member CSA farm on 225 acres along the Kinderhook Creek. One hundred and fifty of these acres are preserved for agriculture in perpetuity; this land can never be developed or sold to a non-farmer.  Roxbury Farm was one of the first CSA’s in New York and currently is one of the largest in the country.

Volunteer Requirement: Each member or family is asked to contribute three to four hours of time, helping to set up or clean up the site, delivering leftover food to a pantry, or telephoning other members with reminders. If none of that is possible for you, or if the schedule is full, you can contact the site coordinators for other options. If do not want to participate in the volunteer program, you can pay a $40 fee. In addition there is a member workday on the farm once a month during the season. These workdays allow members to participate in the work of the farm, meet the farmers & other members, walk the land, and visit the U-Pick Gardens for herbs & flowers.

The Farm at Miller’s Crossing

A 200 acre family farm in which 30 acres are used in the production of over 50 different types of vegetables, many of which are heirloom and open pollinated varieties. A greenhouse produces vegetable and flowering bedding plants and a small beef herd and some pigs provide a source of local organic, grass-fed meat.

Threshold Farm

Supplying CSA members with 2 acres producing 50 varieties of vegetables using biodynamic methods - whose standards are not limited by the “National Organic Plan.” Orchard that offers an optional fruit share with biodynamic apples, peaches and pears. Also offers, in season, grass-fed beef and pork from their animals.
